Värnamo railway yard has been upgraded in collaboration with the Trafikverket and Sandahls AB. Agicon has provided surveying technology and quantity control services.
Extensive excavation and groundworks
Värnamo railway yard has been upgraded with new tracks, switches, catenary lines, and signal control equipment. Sandahls Entreprenad was responsible for extensive ground and ducting works, which involved managing large quantities of electrical and signal cables needed for the area.
High safety requirements in a risky environment
The work at the railway yard has been complex and required high safety standards, particularly because train operations cannot be interrupted and can only be stopped once a week. This has meant that much of the work was carried out at night, and many tasks needed to be coordinated with others within a limited timeframe and space. The project placed significant emphasis on careful procedures and preparations to protect workers, especially in older yards with potentially hidden cables underground.
